A Beautiful Day In Cleveland

This is where I was last night instead of live blogging with you guys. I'm really sorry about that but how could I say no when Dr. Bachelor invited us over for spicy food and a sampling from Maynard Keenan's winery? It was phenomenal, as was the view. That's his living room window above ^.

Here are some shots from outside:

It's Spring, so it's been raining a lot and the water is a bit muddy, but it's excellent for swimming in the Summer. Lake Erie is shallow so it warms up pretty quickly. I highly recommend Huntington Beach. It's young and fun for people watching.

Good company, great views and beautiful weather. All in all, a wonderful day.

Tornado Alley Was Amazing

This was my first trip to an Imax theater and just walking into the place gave me vertigo. I felt like one wrong move would send me tumbling over the people seated in front of me.

I didn't get any pictures of the movie because I never thought to! It was so unbelievably incredible that the thought never crossed my mind. The Great Lakes Science Center is showing it and it's about Sean Casey's quest to film inside a tornado. It was 8 years in the making. The 40 minute film was the TV show 'Storm Chasers' times ten and without all the drama. I found myself grimacing and tightening up when the footage from inside the actual tornado came on screen. A must-see for any fans of the show or storm chasing in general. Here's the trailer-

And this is for Leenieva, pictures of downtown Cleveland where she could be living right now and enjoying the scenery and all the cultural wonders the area has to offer.

And a view of downtown-

I'll be here if you need a real estate agent, or a tour guide!

Spring Came To Cleveland

And other than skipping around and randomly squeazing my dogs, I am happy as a clam. It is gorgeous today. I am playing music that make me think of this time of year and dancing like a goof. What songs put you in a Spring mood?

And here's the bee girl all grown up.

Orchid Mania At The Cleveland Botanical Gardens

It's a good thing that we went to see all the gorgeous orchids today since it ends tomorrow! Oops!
The place was packed and I apologise for the sweats wearing heathens in the first picture. Cleveland is not exactly known for being a fashion mecca.

A bunch more after the jump.

I Wish You All A Good Weekend

What will YOU be doing? I will be staving off the cold and wondering why people can't drive in snow. Especially since it's almost Spring. Shouldn't you have gotten over the fear of slush back in December, Mr. Retard that almost killed me today? I'd move, but I doubt that I'd ever find a city that's more in tune with my aesthetic. Just look at the painting above. It's from the Slore wing of the Cleveland Museum of Art.

I'm drunk already. GO ME!

Cleveland Is Beautiful

Because I love my adopted city so much, and because we get dumped on way more than is neccessary, I am going to do a lot more pro-Cleveland posts this year. I'm going to highlight the places I love, the art and beauty that surrounds us here in Northeastern Ohio, and basically hammer it down your throat, but tied in a pretty pretty ribbon.

I took this on the way home from our Adventure In Antiquing.

And this is one of the many heroic statues representing local industry on the refurbished 30s designed Lorain-Carnegie Bridge.

Thank goodness they renovated instead of tearing it down, like they did with most of the mansions on Euclid Ave. Have you ever seen that great book lost New York? I bet they could print one for every city in the Untied States. We should at least try to document what we love while we can.

Ohio Kids Reinterpreting Down

I would love to find out in the future that one of these kids became the next Trent Reznor.

From last Fall.

I didn't know that Cleveland Had A Bridge and Tunnel Crowd

We went out Saturday night and walked down West 6th street where a whole bunch of these types of chicks were stumbling into clubs with phony red carpets. Red Carpets! In front of some douchey club full of Armenian immigrants and chicks from Parma.
I would like to dole out some unsolicited advice to the girls from the bachelorette parties that we had the unfortunate pleasure of watching teeter on their cork heels and try to wiggle their sausage casing down to an acceptable level below their pubic bone: If you haven't exercised since those mandatory years in middle school, don't wear tube dresses! Leave that to the real whores that work at The Crazy Horse down the street.
Thank you.

The Strange Things That People Do

I give you Stonehenge- Tremont style.

And if you are ever in the neighborhood, get yourself some Lily chocolates and a blood orange Mimosa to go with them. Well worth the trip.

The Easter Bunny Pooped All Over These Poor People's Yard

If you live in the Cleveland area like Mr. McSlore and myself, you picked up your Sunday paper only to see a picture of this lunatic's home on the front page of the Metro section. We had to go to Euclid to see the M-I-L, and I made my baby drive past the house. I believe that the couple's expressions reflect the fact that Napa was barking at them like a maniac, or it could have been because I rolled down the window and yelled, "Get a hobby," in honor of Bethenny Frankel Hoppy.

Seriously, do you know how many rounds of golf I could enjoy for the price of all that sherbet colored crap? And the neighbours must LOVE them. Cars go up and down the street all damn day and then they get out and walk all over everyone's yard. It's a good thing they don't live near us. We have a shotgun in the house, and Mr. Mcslore is always saying how the world is over-populated, if you get my drift.

I Thought I'd Never Say This

But today I am proud to be a Clevelander. The city council has approved a domestic partnership agreement giving same sex couples the same benefits as us breeders. (Of course, we in Cleveland Hghts being the uber-liberals that we are, already beat them to it)
